Last week, Learners from our 10 South England colleges attended the annual Ex St George’s Dragon. It was a huge success with Learners experiencing many aspects of military life, please read below what Centre Manager of MPC Aldershot had to say about the event:
“Ex St Georges Dragon was our annual exercise we run for students from all 10 colleges in the South region. This was a 5 day event at Longmoor Camp and this year we were lucky enough to have the event supported by the Army Air Corps who throughout the week enlisted the help of the Royal Artillery and RAF.
We had 99 learners from our colleges attend and throughout the week they learnt all about life in the Amy Air Corps and what a wonderful career it is.
The learners had some fantastic experiences such as map reading/navigation exercises, 8 mile Tab, the assault course, a night exercise with different scenarios for them to deal with and the highlight of the week was the opportunity for every single learner to fly in a Chinook Helicopter.
I have been privileged to attend a lot of exercises and courses and what Captain Hannah and her team from the AAC put on last week for our learners was outstanding. They went over and above (no pun intended) with what they delivered for all our learners. At the end of the week there was an estimated 20+ learners who are now all looking at joining the AAC”.
