The MPCT Sports Academy supports their community

The Rhondda Sports Academy have been busy serving the local Primary Schools in the local area as part of a Community Project in partnership with Sport RCT. The students planned a multi sports tournament with events such as football, TAG rugby, capture the flag, fox’s tails and Rats and Rabbits among many other inclusive sports. On the day the students each had roles which involved refereeing, time keeping, setting up equipment and score keeping. With close to 200 Primary School students attending through the day, the students were certainly kept busy!

The event took place at the newly developed Rhondda Fach Sports Centre and coincided with the official opening of the indoor 3G court. This was a great opportunity for our Sports Academy students to put into practice all the knowledge and skills they have been developing recently within their Inspired by Sport curriculum and it is hoped there will be several other opportunities available as a result! At the end of the event there was plenty of positive feedback from teachers and development officers. Our students can feel proud of their contributions to making the day a huge success!
